SPACE: Although Glassé is comprised of two floors (which when combined makes 2,000 sqft) the space has been cleverly manipulated by mirrors, lighting effects and elevated areas to create varying depths and alcoves. The wrap around roof top bar has a protruding deck that extends outwards overlooking the lounge below. It is flanked on one side by the incandescent, ocean façade cityscape and the remarkable colonial epoch- Galle Face Court, on the other. The mezzanine-esque layout offers a diverse range of seating and creates open space which ideal for mingling and carousing near the main bar. There are two VIP areas that are each individually decorated and themed to offer larger groups the luxury of having their own demarcated space and personalized service. DESIGN: Glassé is a design dichotomy, hosting a colonial-urbane interior with clean lines and bold detailing. The design genre is classic contemporary; the furniture and accessorizing features have elements of ostentatious decadence (such as royal purple, studded leatherette couches, gold and silver ottomans etc ), which is enhanced by state of the art technology in the form of intelligent and mood lighting effects. True to its namesake, the crowning statement of the venue is the floor to ceiling glass walls that run along its perimeter- making it the most transparently stylish lounge bar in Colombo. Inside there are numerous captivating surfaces like gold padded walls and quirky wallpaper reminiscent of the orient, which further illustrates the design ethos. The outdoor deck area with its resort style wicker furniture acts as the perfect intermediary space. AMBIANCE: The ambiance is nonchalant and unassuming. Glassé has a certain understated finesse.
