Word of Power Ministries, Sri Lanka
Pastor Vincent Balanathan experienced the New Birth on the 30th of January, 1981, during a Friday Prayer meeting which was held at the Anglican Church, Batticaloa, Sri Lanka.
The very same day the Lord called Him into the Ministry. Since he had no knowledge about the call of God, he refused to accept it. After some days he accepted the call. Later on the Lord mercifully confirmed his calling through Bro. D.G.S. Dhinakaran, Jesus Calls, India.
In 1983, Suddenly, people began to come to Pastor Vince for prayers. On one particular day, the Lord chose to demonstrate the Power and the Authority of His Word. Not knowing how to pray, Pastor Vince opened the Book of John the 1st Chapter and started to read the first verse. As soon as he started, the father of the family who came for prayer, fell on the floor convulsing, with froth coming out of his mouth, followed by his two daughters and grandchildren. All of them, convulsing, twisting and rolling on the floor.
A few days later, Charmaine, ( Pastor Vince's wife ) had a vision. As the day was breaking, in that vision she saw a staff hanging right above her and a voice spoke saying, "This rod is being given in the hands of Vincent."
1983 March 18th, a prayer meeting began as early as 5:30 a.m. As days passed by, the people began to increase. Then trouble and violence broke out in Sri Lanka. In the midst of the trouble and terror, the people continued to attend the early morning prayer meetings as usual.
1984 March 18th, the 1st Sunday gathering began. Pastor Vince with his wife Charmaine, his daughter Juliana and a dear brother were the only ones present for that day.
Nevertheless, the Lord began to add to the Church those who were being saved. The Lord was faithful and did not permit any of His Promises to fall to the ground. The Word spoken by certain prophets over the life of Pastor Vincent and Charmaine are being fulfilled even until this day.
