Hampstead International School - Early Childhood Education
The Early Childhood Education Center is a not for profit preschool for children age 2.5 to 5 years. There are two sections: 3/4 year old and 4/5 year old. we have a teacher ratio of 1 teacher for every 8 children,as well as administrative, domestic and security staff. Our school is located in a semi rural environment well away from the noise and pollution of traffic yet is only a few minutes walking distance from dangolla junction and the children's park. The large open classroom area provides plenty of space for a range of activities both at tables and on the floor,in the playhouse or on the terrance where they have access to sand and water tables.There are separate toilets for boys and girls. the outdoor area contains a mainly covered play area with a variety of equipment for all children, the painted "Road" allows children to safely ride bikes, scooters and pedal cars and various tyre swings, climbing frames. Slides, merry go round trampolines and other equipment keep children physically engaged. part of the play area can also be used in wet weather.A small garden area is for children to grow vegetables and flowers,and a guinea pig is the school pet.
The curriculum activities are very flexible and includes plenty of opportunities for learning simple English. pre-reading and writing skills. we enjoy a lot of singing and dancing, apart from the skills for writing, drawing and craft-work. parents find that their children are well prepared for any school they progress to.
