Galle Fort Golden Flea Market - 'Galle Pola'
The community of Galle, in collaboration with the Galle Heritage Foundation, invites you to come and celebrate historic Galle Fort’s time-honoured role as a global cultural and trading hub at the city’s Golden Flea Market. The market is an open-air, free-for-all bazaar and the next one is taking place on Saturday 16th November from 9.30am until 5.30 p.m. in beautiful Law Court Square.
Trades people and creative folk from all walks of life will be selling and exhibiting a fantastically eclectic mix of wares ranging from Afghan rugs to antiques to canvas art to books to bric-a-brac to clothes to food to jewelry to photography to pure organic fair trade products to sweets, to teas to toys to vintage style posters and postcards and woodwork.
Strollers, shoppers and stallholders from all over the island are welcome and vendors 500 rupee entrance fees contribute toward the Galle Heritage Foundation’s crucial fund for restoration and preservation of the Fort.
Rental tables, chairs and a limited supply of umbrellas and sun huts will be available to hire on the day.
