Kalutara Bar Association
The KBA secretariat is located in the Kalutara courts complex, which is located on the south east bank of the 'Kalu' river. Kalutara courts were founded in the 1690's during the Dutch rule of the coastal areas, and was among the first six court houses established in Sri Lanka. Kalutara court complex consists of seven court houses which includes a Civil Appeals High Court. Kalutara Bar Association has a long tradition of speaking against what it considers as injustices, and for upholding the law ! The Kalutara Bar, according to non member visitors, is a friendly bar. We like to consider ourselves as "attorneys for democracy and justice", who strive for a balance between traditions and change !
