To Propel and Promote as a Hub of Tourism in Asia
This concept was envisaged and activated by Presidential award winner for tourism in 2009 – Ralph Gunawardane and Marketing consultant and tourism promoter Nishantha Herath and initiated with the support of Veteran media personality Arun Dias Bandaranaike and a team of dedicated volunteers and friends as a means of promoting Sri Lanka as a dream touristic destination . The documentary with a time span of 22 minutes focuses on Hambantota’s unique setting ,the easy access it provides through Land and through modern sea planes to other parts of the Island, the newly opened Mattala International Airport as well as the sea port . Pride of place is given to the huge density of Wild life , Flora and fauna in the region including the BIG FIVE ANIMALS OF ASIA – THE GIANT OF THE LAND – THE ELEPHANT , THE GIANT OF THE OCEAN – THE WHALE , THE LEOPARD , THE SLOTH BEAR AND THE ENORMOUS WILD WATER BUFFALO which weighs around 1200 KGs ..With the entrance of major world renowned hotel chains such as Shangri La , Centara , Marriot , Ozo to the country and strategic investments by local blue chips towards fortifying the sector and the involvement of boutique hotel chains such as UGA Resorts , Citrus Leisure and its like , the question of availability of world class accommodation is a non issue and therefore what is of paramount importance is the promotion of Sri Lanka as a treasured touristic destination with Hambantota as a focal point and this is our endeavor .
