Wide, pillared verandas, cool wrap-around balconies, arched doorways and lofty beamed ceilings characterise this serene Dutch colonial-style villa which was unmistakably designed for relaxation. Pooja Kanda’s tranquility is further enhanced by a garden bursting with birdsong and enlivened by visits from inquisitive monkeys high up in the trees. Hier gibt es nichts, was Sie und das Meer trennt, denn unser Hotel liegt wirklich direkt am Strand ! Sie verlassen Ihr Zimmer und Sekunden später planschen Sie schon im 27 Grad warmen Indik. Dies völlig ungestört, denn hier gibt es keine Bettenburgen. Auch Jogger können unbehelligt ihre Bahnen ziehen. Das Restaurant des Hauses öffnet sich ebenfalls zum Wasser hin, für ausreichend Liegestühle ist gesorgt. Wellenreiter kommen hier voll auf ihre Kosten, doch auch Schwimmen ist möglich. Zum ruhigeren Schwimmen oder für Kinder empfehlen wir eine Bucht in 500 m Entfernung. Dort gibt es ebenso ein Riff mit Korallen und etlichen Fischarten- zur Freude der Schnorchler. 1,5 km entfernt befindet sich die kleine Stadt Habaraduwa, wo man Einkäufe tätigen und den Markt ( ein Erlebnis !!) besuchen kann. Einen Arzt gibt es dort auch. Der Koggala-See mit seiner Zimtinsel ist eine weitere Attraktion in unmittelbarer Nähe- eine Bootstour lohnt sich. Für größere Einkäufe aller Art bietet sich das 15 km entfernte Galle an. Die Festung der Stadt gehört zu den touristischen Highlights Sri Lankas. Geographische Lage: Das "Haus am Meer" befindet sich im Südwesten der Insel, ca. 15 km südlich der Distriktstadt Galle am Kilometer 128 der Küstenstrasse A2 nahe des Ortes Habaraduwa am Koggala Beach. Die Entfernung zum Flughafen Colombo beträgt 170 km, Transferzeit je nach Verkehr 3,5 bis 5 Stunden. Doch der weite Weg lohnt sich:sauberes, azurblaues Wasser und breite, kilometerlange Strände ohne Massentourismus, vielleicht die schönsten Sri Lankas überhaupt...

We are a cozy beach guest house situated conveniently near Galle (15 min.), Koggale (5 min.) and Colombo/Bandaranaike International Airport (2 hours on the newly built highway). We offer 5 double rooms – each with a fan, bathroom and WI-FI. Our biggest advantage is the beach – just at the front of our common relax area, open for swimming, snorkeling and surfing of course. The nearby community of Unawatuna, little to crowded for our taste, offers all the excitement of the hip tourist lifestyle – shops, discos, bars and restaurants. If it's peace and quiet your looking for just stay on our beach or take a ride with a tuk-tuk to some local „must-sees” - rice fields, fruit and fish markets and tea plantations.
