Today the college is much developed and keep on increasing the quality of the education giving at present. Total area size of the school is ........(achers) and more space been allocated to the playground. There are classes from Year 6 to Year 13. As there was a primary school named "Ampara Primary School" the classes Year 1 to Year 5 was conducted separately. (The Ampara Primary School is still remain in the city and represent the college as "Kawanthissa Maha Vidyalaya, Ampara"). There is ............ buildings and a new building is under constructions. At present college doesn't have a swimming pool and an indoor stadium. There is ...... students totally and ........ number of academic staff. In addition to that there are ...... of non academic staff. The most important concept that the college belive is "Staff, students,parents all are a one family". The school is nominated as a national school in ............(Date) by the Sri Lanka government. And also as the sports school in the Ampara district. Under the sport school many students lead them selves from school levels to the national level in sports. At present the school is having all laboratory facilities for biology(Zoology & Botany), Physics and Chemistry. There is a section for Learth Machinery and Wood Craft training as well. Students can learn these subjects accourding to their choice and practical periods are arranged in the time table. And as a heritage from the area, there is an agriculturel unit to enhance the agriculturel techniques. The students of all levels can take agriculture as a subject. Other asset what college has is the main library. The library have modified to create a knowledge base in the school. Students are benifitted from the library in many ways. There is a consultancy service for students who are having tention, stress and other phycological matters. The service conducted by a teacher and is a voluntary service. Students have a hostel facilities for both girls and boys. Students who live more than 10km away from school are entitle to have hostel facilty.
