'Charcoal' is an art gallery situated in Mt. Lavinia and is a business that supports art & creativity, in all forms.
Our facility offers two art galleries ‘The Dutch Entrance’ and the ‘Sunset Terrace’ which could be rented for exhibitions, book launches, poetry readings, plays, live acoustic music, open-mic nights and other creative events. Come & sing and dance under the stars....bring your guitar....we've got the piano. Just do your thing.

We've got all kinds of creative classes to get your imagination going and fine-tune those skills & that dormant right brain!!! Presently, classes are offered in Art Education at The Secret Garden, Art Therapy for relaxation, Piano, Guitar, Music Theory, Vocal Training, Dance & Movement, Creative writing, Photography, & ceramic painting to name a few.
Our Café, is a community hangout for all music lovers. The most played genre being Jazz. However, we do play Rock & contemporary music now and again. Sketch for charity while you wait for your order.
The food!! This is what we all look forward to and something that warms our hearts and brings about togetherness, friendship, gives us joy and comfort somehow.
The food we serve is always freshly made. There's nothing like fresh food. We offer Gourmet Sri Lankan coffee, Sri Lankan tea, freshly made sandwiches & goodies that are the whipped together in a frenzy of exuberant passion. You will never know what to expect till you turn up. We'll try not to disappoint you.
We even undertake Theme parties, coffee mornings & tea parties!
