"Athlete Unleashed is a company that was formed with the vision of producing high performance athletes in Sri Lanka and is the first ever sports performance company in the country.
With the advancement of sports science, strength and conditioning plays a significant part in any athlete’s success. Sri Lanka is far behind in this area and at Athlete Unleashed our main goal is to bridge the gap between Sri Lankan sport and the international arena. We attempt to do this by creating scientifically developed programs that will help sportsmen and sportswomen in Sri Lanka reach their true potential.
While it is necessary for any athlete to possess the natural talent and skill to excel in his or her given sport, an athlete will not improve one’s physical characteristics such as speed, strength and endurance by purely participating in their given sport. This is why it is important for all athletes to also participate in a properly administered strength and conditioning program to enhance the natural skills the athlete may possess for their sports to maximize ones performance.
AU is by far the most complete, qualified and experienced outfit of its kind in Sri Lanka. Their expertise range over a wide range of sports including rugby, cricket, athletics, tennis, basketball, swimming, water polo, squash and badminton. Most of the AU team have even competed in these sports at high levels and bring years of archival knowledge to their practice.
AU will prepare an athlete in both body and mind, instilling the importance of preparation, physical and mental discipline, ability to expect and cope with pressure, and break down your sporting or career goals into achievable targets. Rather than leave you with an information overload, AU will guide, train and mentor you through every step of the way. The results will be obvious.
We focus on improving and enhancing an athlete's performance. All programs are conducted in consultation with the athlete, his/her coach and parents in order to maximise their potential and ability. At AU we place little emphasis on cosmetic muscle and strive to move away from the generic body-building culture that is prevalent in Sri Lankan sports today. We aim to prepare the best conditioned, functionally strong and fast athlete that a coach will not be able to leave on the bench. Looking good is a merely a by product of our goal to produce teams and athletes who are confident, feel good and perform optimally, whether on the field, in the classroom or the board room.
