Japanese Language Education Association JASTECA in addition to organizing human resource development and technology transfer programs, it is also actively engaged in social responsibility, welfare and educational activities. Teaching Japanese Language has been an activity undertaken by JASTECA from the very inception and in the year 2003, the oldest Japanese Language Teaching Institution in Sri Lanka, established by the Japanese Embassy in Sri Lanka, under the name of “Japanese Language Education Association”, (JLEA) was transferred to JASTECA. The Japanese Language Education Association (JLEA) was established as a Trust of JASTECA and is managed by the Vice Patron Mr. Dayasiri Warnakulasooriya, who is also the Chairman of JLEA Trust. Nearly 1,000 trainees pass through this institution every year.

The University of Colombo is a public research university located primarily in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The oldest institution of modern higher education in Sri Lanka, it is also the largest university in the island, specialised in the fields of natural, social, and applied sciences as well as mathematics, computer sciences, and law.
