Memory Lane

Kandy road, Kadugannawa ,
I'm named as Charitha Lakmal Rajapakshe and being a student of Kadugannawa Primary school , Ranabima Royal College and Dharmaraja college, was well known as a mischievous character in all schools. But I was very artistic and loved music from my small age. After leaving the school I followed a Telecommunication course in City and Guilds and started my career as a technician in Dialog Axiata. While I was working I discovered my passion for photography. Determined to tap the creative potential in me, I became the proud owner of a Canon EOS 450D on 8th April 2010. Then I left Dialog Axiata and went on a quest to capture the true essence of Sri Lanka’s prized possessions. The journey across the country not only helped me portray the beauty of nature immobilized in time but it was also the path that led me to rediscover my self as a professional photographer. 12th March 2011 marked another milestone in My career as I entered the vastly competitive field of Wedding Photography. This was soon followed by another personal achievement on my part as I was able to upgrade to a EOS Canon 5D mark ii on 8th March 2012. Through self learning and from internet resources with the right blend of inborn creativity made me master the art of photography and prove my worth as an ambitious a creative and a talented photographer.
I Love My Kadugannawa

I Love My Kadugannawa

Kadugannawa is one of the entry points to the ancient hill capital of Sri Lanka, the Kandyan Kingdom. It is popular because of the geographical setting which creates spectacular views over the valley below, and because of the gap through the mountains which had made it extremely difficult to access the Kingdom during the time of the Kings. Many Portuguese, Dutch, and British armies faced annihilation trying to capture the Kingdom of Kandy from 1505 to 1815.
