Former Kuma Villa now Ayu Suwatha Ayurveda Resort Mng by Ayurveda CeylonStar in Kosgoda. The management change was caused by the takeover of the resort by the hotelier Tharaka Wickremaratne in 2010. A well-known and a well experienced hotelier in the Ayurveda Field with over 20 years international experience. Tharaka was the former General Manager of Ayurveda Lotus Villa Ahungalle and Ayurveda Garden Ambalangoda, in Sri Lanka. LOCATION You will find us in Kosgoda, on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka about 70 km from the capital Colombo. The resort is located between the famous coast road „Galle Road“ and the beautiful Kosgoda beach, in a hidden and a very quite place offering an ideal environment for a successful therapy. Kosgoda is a small town. The closest big major towns are Bentota and Ambalangoda. The ravishingly beautiful palm fringed Kosgoda Galbokka beach is just about 150 meters. You can get to the beach via a small path through palm and banana trees, where you can meet the friendly smiling villagers. Though the Kosgoda Galbokka Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches surrounding Srilanka it is Virginal, and untouched, and rarely used by tourists and you will feel that it's your private beach, where you can feel the tranquility and the calm, soothing effects. LIVING The small country stlye newly built resort with 7 Dbl Rooms offers you all modern facilities. An open restaurent with views to the garden where you can enjoy your meal prepared by our Chef. A large garden with a swimming pool and a traditional ayurvedic sauna. Four spacious double rooms. All rooms are equipped with private bathroom (shower), hot and cold water, terrace or balcony. The rooms are built and decorated according to the ayuvedic principles, high and cool, purposely without TV, Telephone and air conditioning but with quiet running ceiling fans. Further more, internet access and telephone with IDD facility at the reception and a reading corner. HEALTH We are offering serious traditional Ayurveda Pancha Karma treatments to Healthy and Sick people,recognized & Resisted as a Private Cl inc by the Department of Ayurveda, Sri Lanka.Our physicians are well experienced and English speaking qualified ayurveda physicians and a professionally trained team of therapists who will take care for a smooth and a successful cure stay. Before beginning your treatment, you have the traditional pulse diagnosis, a means of finding your actual situation - the key point to define and develop the treatment plan as well as the meals tailored to your constitution. After the examination and detailed interview with you, the Ayurveda CeylonStar doctors will determine the suitable treatments and the diet that you will receive. LEISURE There are many things that you can do in your leisure time - such as swimming, walks on the beach Kosgoda or a short trip to the famous beach Bentota, which is about 12 k m away. Yoga and Tai Chi / Meditation. Entertainment for our guests includes local music and dance and ayurvedic cookery demonstrations. We also give general talks about Ayurveda. The hatchery was hit by the Tsunami in 2004. The whole area was destroyed and they had very little money to rebuild the sanctuary so they decided to launch a website and call in international volunteers for there help using the money raised by schools and donations from visitors. 7 years later (2011) the project is doing well and more and more turtles are being saved everyday in one way or another. Eggs are being protected from poachers and the hatchlings are being released while being overlooked by the volunteers to ensure they are not caught out by predators such as birds. The sanctuary is now home to 10 Green, Olive Ridley, Hawksbill, Loggerhead and soon to be Leatherback turtles. The turtles are well looked after and made sure they are healthy and eating well, the turtles we have at the moment are victims of fishermen, poachers and the black market. It's not as bad as it used to be but it still happens because at the end of the day it's a way of making money no matter how illegal it is, as money is a big problem here in Sri Lanka. The government play no part in the funding of this place which is why we need your help, you can also contribute by liking/becoming a fan of this page and if your kind enough, giving a small donation the help us help such amazing creatures and stopping them becoming extinct later in life.
