Authors Composers & Performers Organization of Sri Lanka
Few musicians and professionals in related fields, who identified the need for an entity to truly represent their interests under the new Act, came together in 2011 and formed a new Organization call ACPO (Author Composers & Performers Organization of Sri Lanka) to represent the interest of the industry. Subsequently, many more joined this organization after leaving the ineffectual bodies that represented them earlier. ACPO will act as the designated Organization to issue license to those who use the works of their members for commercial purposes such as, public performances, Live Concerts in malls, recreation centers, and for use in Karaoke’s, Pubs, Airlines, and by Radio and television stations as well as by new media mobile and online service providers. ACPO will collect and remit all royalties to their authors, composers, and music publisher and performer members after deducting its administrative cost.
