The Haniffas Holiday Bungalows are located in Peradeniya a small village which is 6km far from Kandy City. It takes 10 min by bus or by tuk-tuk to get into town. The Bungalow which can be used as single or double rooms. They come with a private bathroom with Hotwater . The double bed comes with a mosquito net.In front of the bungalow there is a small terrace on which you can sit and enjoy the view of the mountains the forest and the nature. Additional to the accommodation we offer breakfast and dinner which is traditional home-cooked Sri Lankan food . The Bungalows are located within walking distance to Kandy's famous Botanical Gardens. The bus stop is 200m far from the bungalow. The train station (Peradeniya Junction Railway Station) is 5 min ride by tuc-tuc. We can pick you up at the train station (Peradeniya Junction Railway Station) and we take a tuc-tuc (100,- LKR). Or we will pick you up at the bus stop. If you want to be picked up just call me. Bogambara Stadium is one of the oldest grounds in the country. It is a multi-use stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is currently used mostly for Rugby matches and hosts the games of the Singer Sri Lankan Airlines Rugby 7's.Early historyBogambara Stadium was not only used for sports, it was also used for folk sports like elle, bahu, thattu, gudu etc. Bogambara Stadium was converted from a lake to a playing field in the year 1897. At one time it was the site for carnivals, games circuses and gymkhana activities and even an execution ground during the British occupation.SportsBogambara Stadium serves as a venue for various sports ranging from Rugby, Football, Hockey, Athletics, Netball, Basketball, softball, and cricket.Stadium DevelopmentBogambara Stadium was renovated into a stadium in 1972, thanks to the Special Commissionership of late M.B. Samarakoon and E.W. Balasuriya the famous sports promoter for helping to do lot of good things with generous donations. In 1998, Anurudha Ratwatte, the former deputy defence minister was instrumental in converting the Bogambara stadium into an international standard stadium. It was re-developed under the patronage of the municipal council and presently the Sports Ministry owns the premises. The ground fees are on the higher side and the less affluent football and hockey clubs are finding it difficult to keep the game alive.
