Executive Summary Minra Granite (Private) Limited (MGL) is a duly incorporated company in Sri Lanka for the sole purpose of mining Granite blocks for the export market. The project will export mined Granite in Rough or finished form as per customer requirements to many countries including Middle East, China and Singapore. Considering the fact that Minra will invest approximately Rupees 40 Million on a stage by stage basis in this venture, it is essential for Minra to deliver strong financial returns on its investments. In order to do this Minra will from the inception adopt best practices and processes. Together with all its stakeholders, Minra will share key values such as: Creating and maintaining high standards of performance for protecting the environment; Safeguarding the health, human rights and well‐being of our employees and communities; and, Creating sustainable, long‐term economic and social opportunities in the areas where we operate. This venture also takes into account to enrich lives of the people living in the vicinity and hence will provide employment opportunities for a workforce of around 30 persons both skilled and unskilled living in and around Pelawatta, Mathugama. All necessary personnel including technical and other professionals required for the operation will be recruited in due course. If necessary the company will also hire Consultants for specific areas of operation as and when required. Further the Board of Directors will be available to guide the management team.
