Christ Church College - Matale
In 1864- The basic course of English for boys of Christ Church College was Commenced under the guidance of Kurunagala Diyokesi church missanary association at a plot of land named Lady Makarthi in city of historical Matale.........
1900- This was the 1st English school in Matale which was included among the 148 aided schools in the island............
1912- The scoute movement of Sri lanka was began at 1st in our school under the pioneer of Sir francis Jorge Steevansen...........
1920- It was established as a sinhala mixed school with the commencement op self lingual education.........
1931- Two sections were established as sinhala and Tamil...........
1932-The 1st inter house meet was held in the school ground and Hockey was introduced by the sports club of the Christ Church College..........
1939- The 1st prize giving ceremony was held arcl ,It was presided by Sir Kuda Ratwatta............
1961- The school was taken-over to the government............
1963- Christ Church College was commenced by intergrating the Rural mixed school and Christ church college..........
1986- Old pupils association of the college and advanced level Art stream was started..........
1992- Advanced level Commerce section was commerced..........
1999- (our school was) nominated as a National school by the Ministry of Education..........
