St. Thomas' College Matara which has a glorious history was started on 10th of march 1844. Every year we produce a well disciplined prefect board to make our administration easy. Scouting is one of the leading extra-curricular activities in our college. In 1917 Rev. father Ante introduced scouting to our school. We are young talented pioneers of Matara district as the 1st Matara scout troop. During our proud history our mother Thomian has created thousands of scouts. There are lots of queen scouts & president scouts. We are very proud as we are celebrating our century in 2017. The Matara Campus of the SLIIT was established in 2004 and is situated at the heart of the Matara Town [E.H.Cooray Tower , Galle Road (Near the Matara Bodhiya)]. This centre is established for the convenience of students in the Southern province. Thecampus admits upto 150 students for the first two years of the IT degree programme.
